first day is the sun's

then the moon has her day

as mars soon appears

mercury on it's way


next is jupiter's

as venus says beware

soon to be saturn's

day to rest and repair

a sudden cool breeze

sweeps sweet tears from my cheeks then

as suddenly leaves

her face looks old and sad now

only she can see

her face looks so

very different than it did

before she lost her true love

and why wouldn't it

sometimes know the color

of the straw i will draw

out of the box of the

assorted neon straws


yellow is for joy

orange for creativity

pink for self love

and green is for healing


it depends upon

the day of course

and today it was no surprize

when drawing the color green

some will see in this world

with much delight

by believers

some will see quite the sprite

Witch Of The Hills

cat woman of the mountain

white hair flowing

wide eyes glowing


some declared that she was a witch

isolated and alone

yet rarely lonely


some just didn't know it then

that what made her happy

was her own cat family

yet one child

dared to climb

her scary stairs one night

creaky and compromised


to wish her a happy halloween

to say that i loved cats too

to dare to go to

where no child had gone before


she opened the door

and at once i could see that

she expected me

and i left with her smiling eyes
